Morning Coffee: Amir Ramsis is New WCF President

The World Croquet Federation has announced that Amir Ramsis will become acting President. Ramsis is Vice-President of the Egyptian Croquet Federation and has served on the WCF Management Committee since 2003. The election for a new WCF President, along with other posts on the Management Committee, will take place during November-December with the successful candidates taking up their posts on January 1, 2012. The USCA is reporting that seven places have been allocated to the United States for the 13th WCF AC World Championship in Adelaide, Australia, April 28 to May 6, 2012. Ben Rothman received an automatic bid in addition to the seven U.S. allocation spots by virtue of reaching the finals in the 2009 WCF AC World Championship. There are also six wild cards (available to players from all countries) to be allocated during December, and places available for the top four players in the Qualifier, to be played in Adelaide April 24-26, 2011. Players wishing to be considered for selection to the seven US places and/or to be nominated for a wildcard should make their availability known via email to Erica Sherman on or before October 31, 2011. Selections will be made and submitted to the WCF on or before November 30, 2011.
