The Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club is proud to announce the 2023 Croquet by the Bay Tournament, to be held from May 11-14. This USCA Sanctioned, American 6-Wicket Croquet tournament will feature both singles and doubles play, with block play leading to the playoffs. Flights will be divided into Advanced Flight and Novice Flight, with the possibility of additional flights depending on turnout.
Registration is open now, with an entry fee of $195 that includes lunches and a reception. The deadline to register is May 4, 2023, with late entries accepted if space allows. For late registrations, please email maceywhite@gmail.com. The tournament will be held at 1860 Twiggs Ferry Rd., Hartfield, VA 23071.
The tournament will begin on Wednesday, with clinics and practice sessions available for players. The player briefing and reception/dinner will take place at 5pm that evening. Thursday morning will mark the start of tournament block play, leading to playoffs on Saturday and the finals on Sunday.
Players are expected to dress appropriately for the tournament, with proper attire including collared shirts, sweaters, slacks, or Bermuda length shorts. T-shirts, tank tops, mesh clothing, denim, swimwear, cargo pants or shorts with outside bulky pockets, or sweat-pants (except in cold conditions) are not allowed. Attire with vulgar language or images is also not permitted.
