Morning Coffee: MCA Schedule, Polo Photos, Ballenger in the Press

The Missouri Croquet Association announced their official 2010 schedule last month. The MCA has eight events on tap with a final date still to be determined for the Midwest Open in July. There is also discussion about adding a Fourth of July golf croquet tournament at Kactus Creek Croquet Club in Parkville, Missouri. Schedule follows:

May 15 -- Lee's Summit Croquet Tournament (Cutthroat 9 Wicket)
May 29,30,31 -- Kactus Creek Croquet Tournament (6 Wicket-US Championship, 1st flight singles)
June 26 -- Pelican Ridge Croquet Tournament (Cutthroat 9 Wicket-Singles/Doubles)

The 2009 USCA Grand Prix results are in and Croquet World has a fantastic article with photos breaking down the season. Ben Rothman took the overall Grand Prix title and also finished first in both the doubles and singles standings. Rothman's frequent doubles partner Doug Grimsley was second overall and second in doubles play. Following Rothman (18,570 singles points) in singles play -- 2. Danny Huneycutt (15,525) 3.
