England, the defending champion, has produced the strongest overall game record through the first two Tests. The hosts opened the championship with a 16-5 victory over Australia at Roehampton/Hurlingham before defeating the United States 15-6 at Sussex.
New Zealand has followed a nearly identical path. The Kiwis defeated the United States 13-7 at Roehampton/Hurlingham in the opening round and then recorded a commanding 16-5 victory over Australia.
Those results have created a fitting conclusion to the centenary edition of the competition: England and New Zealand playing directly for the Shield over the final five days.
MacRobertson Shield Standings
For England, the final round presents an opportunity to retain the title it won in Australia in 2022. New Zealand is seeking to regain the Shield for the first time since winning the 2014 championship on home soil.
The other final-round Test will give the United States and Australia an opportunity to finish the championship on a high note. Although both teams have been eliminated from Shield contention, third place remains at stake when they meet at Surbiton.
