It has been reported on the Nottingham List that Bob Alman passed away on March 17, 2022, after a short illness. Alman was a dedicated organizer and promoter for the sport of croquet. He was inducted into the World Croquet Federation Hall of Fame in 2020.

Spain defeated Wales 10-3 to claim the 2020 WCF World Team GC Championship Tier 2 title. The 2020 event was held October 11-16, 2021 in Cádiz, Spain, at the headquarters of Real Club de Golf VISTA HERMOSA, SHERRY CROQUET and the Real Club de Golf Novo SANCTI PETRI.
It was the first WCF tournament held since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic began and was contested by Wales, Switzerland, Latvia, Norway, Scotland, Spain and Canada (although only two players were able to attend) and an eighth Select Team that played friendly matches to help the schedule.

The MC has been in discussion with Croquet New Zealand regarding the three World Championships scheduled for early 2022. Current outbreaks in Australia have led to lockdowns in both Australia and New Zealand and their nationwide travel bubble is again on hold. Travel into New Zealand currently requires an expensive two week isolation in a hotel and there is little indication of when this requirement might be lifted. Additionally, there is a clear risk that further lockdowns may be imposed in either country.

These regulations govern the operation of the Association Croquet Grading System (ACGS) and the Golf Croquet Grading System (GCGS) which are used to generate ranking lists of individual players and teams in relation to AC and GC respectively.

With the Tier 2 and lower Golf Croquet WTC already postponed, the World Croquet Federation has now announced that all WCF events scheduled for the remainder of 2020 through 2023 will now be shifted back by one year. The first event affected is the 2020 Women’s Association Croquet World Championship that was scheduled for November 2020 in New Zealand.
In the release, the WCF also noted that further adjustments could be made depending on the status of the COVID-19 pandemic. The table below indicates revised dates which “are approximate and subject to detailed agreement with the relevant event hosts who have all indicated their support.”
Looking ahead to the 2025 MacRobertson Shield, WCF Secretary-General said, “The MacRobertson Shield is due to be held in England in 2025 which will be the centenary of its founding. It was also agreed that, if possible, this event should still be held in 2025 with the forward calendar being revised slightly to accommodate this.”
GOLF Croquet WTC TIErs 2 AND 3 Postponed
The WCF has announced the postponement of the Golf Croquet World Team Championships for both Tier 2 and Tier 3 until 2021. For Tier 2, the Federacion Espanola de Croquet and the other seven Competing Nations jointly decided on the move to 2021. For Tier 3, the Croquet Association (UK), the host club and the WCF Management Committee agreed on the postponement to 2021.
