Croquet Poll: 2016 Most Popular Croquet Mallet

Last year, we provided the Annual Croquet Network Mallet Poll in December. This year, we've shifted over into the new calendar year and we are ready to see if any one can knock RPM Mallets from the top spot (2014 Poll). This year, we'll keep the poll open for one week (January 27 close). Users can vote for up to three mallets, so choose your three favorites. The idea is that many players own multiple mallets. Good luck and please report any omissions or corrections in the comments.

Ramsis Continues as WCF President

Amir Ramsis, the President of the Egyptian Croquet Federation and the current WCF President, was re-elected to serve as President from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2019. Two candidates were nominated.  Amir Ramsis, who was nominated by the Egyptian Croquet Federation, received 38 votes.  Ian Burridge, who was nominated by the Welsh Croquet Association, received 19 votes.

Following the re-election of Ramsis as WCF President, he ceased to be a candidate for an elected position on the WCF Management Committee.  In consequence, there were three candidates for three places on the MC. Accordingly, Luis de Gortazar, Mike Orgill and Samir Patel are deemed to be elected to serve on the MC from  January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2019.

Selection Eights Day One Update

WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- The Eights kicked off relatively on schedule this morning, with only a slight delay to knock out the group photo. From the First Eight, it was noted that Ben Rothman didn't seem to be in top form, but no one was able to take advantage as he went 4-0 to start the event. David Maloof started the event hot, but did fall to Rothman 26tp-23 and he currently has second place in the First Eight with a 3-1 record.

In the evening, members of the Third Eight jumped over to the lighted courts and played well into the darkness to avoid pegged down games.

2015 USCA Selection Eights Eve

WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- It's Selection Eights eve and all through West Palm Beach, AC players are snug in their beds with visions of triples dancing in their heads. Anyway, the news of the day is that the National Croquet Center now has lights available for courts one, two and three. Sources here tell me that they would like to add more. No matter what, it would seem to be a huge benefit to scheduling overall at the Center.
