The 2023 World Croquet Federation Women’s Golf Croquet World Championship started today with 56 players in action at the Sussex County Croquet Club, in Southwick. Today was the start of block play with seven players in each of the eight blocks playing best-of-three matches on the 10 lawns available.
Most players got through two matches today, but some players are still on one match. The event is planned for each player to play two matches per day, but there is additional block play time scheduled for Thursday morning (August 10). Thursday afternoon will feature any block tiebreaker playoffs and the knockout draw is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. (London) that evening.
The knockout playoff action with start on Friday with the first and second rounds. The quarterfinals will be on Saturday and based on the schedule it looks like the event will then be best of five through to the final. The championship final is set for 11:00 a.m. (London) on Monday, August 14, 2023.
