The 2025 US Golf Croquet Classic is set to deliver three days of singles competition in one of the nation’s most picturesque settings. Hosted by the Denver Croquet Club at Washington Park from July 10-12, 2025, this tournament marks Round Three of the 2025 MCA Series Tour and will serve as a key event in the individual player standings and club competition standings.
The third edition of the Classic will feature singles play only, with an open division planned for block play. The top finishers in the open blocks will move to the Pro Playoff Bracket, while the remaining players will battle in the Gold Playoff. If there is sufficient variation in player grades, organizers may split the field into Gold and/or Silver blocks, each requiring a minimum of four players.

The event is capped at 16 players. If the event hits the entry limit, additional players will be added to the waitlist. The US Golf Croquet Classic is sanctioned by the USCA and games will count toward the WCF ranking system. The projected schedule will target block play on Thursday and Friday with the playoffs likely starting on Friday and concluding on Saturday.
The event is no frills and players are expected to play in four to six games. Lunches are not provided. The standard entry fee is $90 but MCA members and Denver Croquet Club members are eligible for the discounted fee of $65.
As part of the 2025 MCA Series Tour, players will earn points toward the season-long standings based on final placement in the event as players will be looking to move up the leaderboard. The 2025 Series held round one in Kansas City with the Missouri Open (9W) and now heads to Tulsa this weekend for round two’s Indian Territory Open (A6) event. The US GC Classic in Denver will represent the third round of the series before the season finale in Houston, Texas, for the Houston Invitational (A6).
The MCA is supporting a $675 total prize purse for the 2025 Series Tour that pays out to players finishing in the top three spots in the PRO and GOLD Divisions at the end of the Tour season. The division payouts are as follows:
PRO: 1st - $250, 2nd - $125, 3rd - $75
GOLD: 1st - $100, 2nd - $75, 3rd - $50
SILVER: Trophy only for first place
BRONZE: Trophy only for first place
MCA Board members are eligible to compete in the Series Tour for places and trophies, but are not eligible for the cash prizes. The cash prizes will be awarded to the next eligible player in the standings.
The 2025 US GC Classic not only expands the geographic reach for the competition but also showcases the evolution of the MCA Series into a multi-code competition, with support for Golf Croquet, American Six Wicket and Nine Wicket formats, with expansion to additional codes planned in future years.
The Denver Croquet Club adds historic flair to this modern event. Located in Washington Park, the club’s roots trace back to 1924 through the Washington Park Lawn Bowling Club. Croquet arrived in 1985 with the Park Hill Croquet Club, which eventually became today’s Denver Croquet Club.
“I am very excited to see the MCA Series Tour visit Denver,” said MCA President Dylan Goodwin. “The goal is to connect all of the clubs and cities in the Midwest to promote the sport in the region and bring a greater sense of community to the area’s croquet players.”
