Croquet Network Community Is Now Croquet Nation

For the past 18 years, Croquet Network has been a trusted source for news, features and coverage of croquet in the United States and around the world. To better focus on that specific mission, we believe our community site needs its own identity and focus.

The Croquet Network community site launched as an experiment and even enjoyed a period where it was the primary entry point for Croquet Network. But with minimal engagement despite great traffic to the site, we shifted Croquet Network back to its home here as an “online magazine” for the sport.

Since that transition, the community site has operated in the shadow of CroquetNetwork.com, yet it has quietly grown to be more than 350 members. As our editorial mission for Croquet Network grows and we look toward building out a team capable of delivering the kind of coverage the sport deserves from an online magazine, the approach to the community platform needs a fresh approach. Based on that consideration, the community site will now operate independently as Croquet Nation.

This change allows Croquet Network to focus fully on journalism — reporting, analysis, features and event coverage — while giving the community space the autonomy it needs to grow, evolve and thrive on its own merit. Croquet Nation will now stand as an independent home for discussion, shared knowledge and member-driven engagement across the sport as we try to better serve the 350+ members of the community.

Post transition, we will soon begin to actively recruit administrators and moderators to help guide and support Croquet Nation’s next phase. A healthy community requires stewardship, and this separation creates the structure needed for that to happen.

In short, it is time to see whether the community can stand on its own and we believe it can. Thank you for your support and if you haven’t yet checked out the Croquet Nation community, visit here: www.croquetnation.com.
