The Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club will host two intensive training camps this spring designed to help players refine their competitive skills in golf croquet and American six-wicket.
The club’s annual Spring Boot Camps provide players with a five-day immersion in high-level instruction and match play, emphasizing the principle that improving performance enhances enjoyment of the game. Participants receive individualized coaching focused on key elements such as shot power, accuracy, distance control, strategy and rules knowledge.
Two sessions are scheduled for 2026. An Advanced Golf Croquet Boot Camp will run April 28–May 2, followed by an American Six-Wicket Boot Camp scheduled for June 1–5. Each program is structured as an intensive, hands-on training experience designed to accelerate player development through a combination of instruction, drills and competitive play.
Instruction will be led by U.S. croquet professional Macey White, one of the nation’s most accomplished multi-discipline competitors and coaches. White began playing croquet in 2013 and has since emerged as a prominent figure in the American game, competing internationally and earning top rankings across several codes of the sport.
White is among a small group of U.S. players certified as both a national-level instructor and referee in golf croquet, American six-wicket, and association croquet. As a competitor, he has posted strong results across multiple formats, including numerous national titles in nine-wicket croquet and international appearances representing the United States in major golf croquet events.
In golf croquet, White has ranked among the top players in the United States and previously captured four consecutive Florida Golf Croquet Regional Championships from 2018 through 2021. His international resume includes representing the United States at the 2019 and 2024 World Golf Croquet Championships and victories or podium finishes in several European events, including the 2025 Sion Open in Switzerland.
Beyond competition, White has been deeply involved in tournament organization and facility development. He has directed more than 100 tournaments across the United States, including numerous regional and national championships. He also played a leading role in designing and developing the Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club, which has grown into one of the largest croquet facilities in the world, featuring 24 championship courts and more than 300 members.
Located in Virginia’s Middle Peninsula, the club regularly hosts national-level tournaments and international competitions. In 2024, it served as the venue for the World Croquet Federation Golf Croquet World Championship.
The Spring Boot Camps are open to players seeking structured training and competitive experience under the guidance of a nationally recognized instructor. Each five-day camp is priced at $395, with instruction tailored to participants’ skill levels and development goals.
