Croquet England, the national governing body for the sport of croquet in England, is making history with the announcement of its first-ever paid Chief Executive Officer role. In 2023, Croquet England became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), reinforcing its mission to promote healthy recreation and support amateur sport for public benefit.

Position Overview

The CEO will work four or five days per week with a pro-rata salary of £60,000, operating primarily remotely with regular travel and a recurring presence at the Croquet England head office in Cheltenham. The new leader will report directly to the Chair of Trustees and will coordinate closely with staff, directors, and an expansive volunteer network.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading strategic delivery across all organizational functions
Fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion, and good governance
Advocating for croquet as a lifelong sport accessible to all
Overseeing operations, including staff management, communications, and partnerships
Collaborating with committee chairs covering areas such as tournaments, coaching, and international relations
