The 2026 Volume 2, Summer edition of the USCA’s Croquet News included a sidebar on page eight in the Clubhouse section related to Wrong Ball Faults and Out of Turn Errors in American Six Wicket. This was submitted by the American Six Wicket Rules Committee and these opinions have been provided periodically in the past. Unfortunately, the entry was not marked as American Six Wicket and it certainly does not align with the rules of golf croquet for the scenario indicated.
We do understand this could be confusing for GC players and we have updated the text in the digital version of the magazine to indicate that it is for American Six Wicket and we will also run a note in the next issue to clarify. Additionally, the USCA Communications Committee meets monthly and in our June meeting, we’ll take a deeper look at this occurrence and consider an approach to ensure clarity in the future.
